Dayton President Lou Grieco, with microphone, at Cleveland Guild meeting.
CWA's national town hall phone calls are always information-packed, with reports from leaders and members, but there's an extra reason for Guild members to tune in tonight: Dayton President Lou Grieco will talk about the local's tentative contract -- the first in a quarter-century for the Dayton Daily News workers.
If you haven't signed up to listen to the call by phone, you can listen online at www.cwa-union.org/cwacall. The call begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. In addition to a report from CWA President Larry Cohen, you'll get an AT&T bargaining update, news about IUE-CWA jobs at GE being returned to Kentucky, hear from a CWA activist unfairly and illegally fired by Verizon and from a Piedmont Airlines activist who helped negotiate a first contract for 3,800 fleet and passenger service agents.
