Sari Gelzer, of the TruthOut Unit of United Media Workers (formerly St Louis Local 36047) has been certified as interim TNG-CWA Region 6 Vice-President on the Sector Executive Council. Gelzer fills the vacancy created when Jennifer Towery resigned to take a job out of Guild jurisdiction.

According to Article IX, Section 4 of TNG-CWA Constitution, locals in Region 6 were informed of the vacancy and Gelzer’s was the only nomination received. She will serve until the 2013 Sector Conference when an election shall be held by referendum.

Gelzer, based in San Francisco, worked on the Bay Citizen organizing campaign and represents TNG on the CWA Next Gen National Committee.
