The Portland Newspaper Guild's Executive Board voted unanimously this week to endorse a tentative agreement between the union and the company regarding wages, some changes that affect the advertising department and a plan to eventually move to a bi-weekly pay period. The board also unanimously voted to endorse changing the name of the union to reflect its membership outside of Portland. Members will vote Feb. 8 on whether to change the name to "News Guild of Maine."
