Rallying for jobs
Chronicle Herald news editor Pam Sword addresses supporters March 14 at a ‘Keep Our News Local’ rally in Halifax. The Halifax Chronicle Herald, Atlantic Canada’s largest daily, is cutting 25% of its editorial staff, raising community concerns of impoverished news coverage. The rally was organized by the Halifax Typographical Union, CWA LOcal 30130, which represents about 140 employees in the newsroom, composing and pressroom.
