— Association of Flight Attendants-CWA
Today, Jan. 15, marks four years since pilot Chesley Sullenberger successfully landed a troubled US Airways jet on the Hudson River. But his weren't the only heroics that day. AFA-CWA members and US Airways flight attendants Donna Dent, Sheila Dail and Doreen Welsh safely evacuated 150 passengers as the plane sunk into the river. "They not only made history, they demonstrated the courage, skill and preparedness that defines our profession," AFA leaders said. We're proud to count them as members of our union family here at NewsGuild-CWA.
