Rattner, a Wall Street executive, looks at new statistics that show an "ever-more-startling divergence between the fortunes of the wealthy and everybody else." In 2010, "a dizzying 93 percent" of income growth since 2009 went to the top 1 percent of taxpayers. The bottom 99 percent received, on average, a "microscopic $80 increase in pay per person in 2010, after adjusting for inflation." People with incomes above roughly a million dollars got an 11.6 increase.
